I'm Glad My Mom Died
by Jennette McCurdy
it feels very wrong rating a memoir / someones real life experience...
one thing i really have to say, the writing style was really good. so much thoughts put into it and the result was beautifully written. I had hard time getting into the book, but once i really started reading it, I couldnt stop.
i come from the generation of kids that grew up when icarly/sam&cat was airing. i remember adoring the shows as a kid...
jennette's experience with the film industry was so triggering and daunting to read. I feel so bad about it. the whole nickelodeon industry seems as a shithole in itself, i certainly hope the conditions are better now...
jennette's family issues and her relationship with her mother was really hard to read psychically, i truly had a hard time reading about the way she was mistreated.
I thought before reading this book that the title was sarcastic, but now i am also glad her mom died. I will root for jennette in her carrier and life. i will definitely read her fiction books too
