Infuriating by Onley James

5.0

Wow wow wow. This was a full 5/5 for me, and I think is my favorite alongside the first in this series. James has outdone herself, truly. This has EVERYTHING I love in a book.

✅ Daddy Kink
✅ Hurt/Comfort
✅ Some slightly OTT drama
✅ Found family
✅ Sexy sexy scenes
✅ A protective alpha MC and a sweet broken boy
✅ A femme boy

Seriously. I know I often write longer reviews but it’s hard to put into words how I feel about this book. The conversation in the last chapter between Jackson and Day made me cry. I love that James isn’t afraid to let her characters get hurt — not die, of course, but get hurt and the effects of that continuing on into the prologue.

I liked that this showed diversity in multiple ways - this is an interracial relationship and Day is disabled. The way that PTSD is talked about not just for war vets. James does bring up sexual trauma for Day’s background, so it would be the third out of the four main novels in this series that features it. However I 100% know people like Day, their stories, and so I didn’t think it was ‘contrived’ at all.

The steamy scenes were off the charts! Daddy kink, punishment, lace and makeup — it was all beautiful. The epilogue did end with sex as part of the HEA, but honestly, it made sense for them. I’m glad Jackson never shamed Day for being a sex worker and didn’t force him to stop either just because they were beginning a relationship. I loved seeing how Charlie and Wyatt got involved again lmao, and this big found family vibe.

Seriously… I loved this book. Please read this. I know there’s just a novella next and I’m gonna miss these boys
