The Burning Sky
by Sherry Thomas
Ohhh!! The Feels!!! I don't even know were to begin!
Okay, head clear. Here goes:
Basically, The Burning Sky's little description isn't that great so I'll give you a little description of my own. If you are supper picked about spoilers you can skip the next parigraph, but if not I'll still try to keep it to a minimum.
There's a Girl, she lives in a world of magic, and she does some advanced magic that she's not supposed to do. Then there are some people high in the government who are looking for someone who can do what she did, so they are coming after her. Then there is a Boy, who also needs her. So he takes her to his school in the real world, which is London in the 18th century (I think). But he was planing for a boy, and because his school is an all boys school, so she has to go under cover as a boy at his school.
And the story continues...
Summing it up: It was awesome.
This story made me think of a reverse-Hary Potter. It's world building is splendid and intriguing, with so much depth. The characters were real. And even though I was a little upset with them for some things, I think those things made me like them even more. I really loved that they were equally smart and strong, although they did have some differences, because I've read a few books that there is one character that's really smart, and powerful, and always has a plan, and everything turns out alright because of him. But it was different in this story, they each did things to help, and could keep up with each other.
Last thing I loved, was that it was in third person, and it switched point of views exactly when it needed to. And you weren't lost in the story, because you knew what was going on. But you didn't know enough for it to be less of an adventure.
So, I hope you read this book and enjoy it, because it was wonderful.
