Mythology
by Edith Hamilton
adventurous
challenging
dark
informative
medium-paced
It's surprising how a book wrote in the 40s, on the subject of ancient Greek mythology, can feel so fresh and modern.
I enjoyed Hamilton's writing style and appreciated the way she introduced the sources used for each of them.
Hamilton's commentary ranges from sassy to savage and I was there for it!
Unfortunately, and I hope this is an issue with my edition only, there seems to be lack of commas, which makes reading multiple length sentences somewhat confusing.
Additionally, towards the end of the book the editiors definitely dropped the ball. Some of the myth headings are not formatted properly and one section was either misplaced or I really didn't get what it was trying to say.
