Wild Beauty
by Anna-Marie McLemore
I absolutely loved the way that this book was written. The flow of the words that seamlessly melts the reader into a magically whimsical story, where the land is alive and men cannot stay. I struggled with the tone behind the book, the incessant need to inject women loving women and men loving men, so it kind of threw me off enough to where I won't read this book a second time. However, I loved how the author brought about the reasoning for the land being alive, the intricate flowers and how the women could grow things just by putting their hands in the soil. It was magical, it was beautiful, but it left a bitter aftertaste that I don't care to try again. Unfortunately, It won't be a book that I recommend to any friends or family.
