Love & Other Disasters
by Anita Kelly
Actual rating: 4,5 stars
This was so good!
A perfect mix of lighthearted rom com and tackling heavier topics like transphobia, divorce and mental health, entertaining yet showing emotional depth.
I love cooking shows, so I was obviously obsessed with the setting.
Both main characters were great, they felt very multidimensional.
Their relationship was so cute from the beginning, and their support for one anothre was so wholesome. I love enemies to lovers but there is just something so soothing about two people falling in love when they liked each other from the beginning.
The pacing was also great, and the ending was executed just how I wanted it.
My only complaint would be that for a couple who was so great at communicating, the pivotal conversation leading to the third-act breakup felt a bit off. I would have wanted a bit more from that, but other than that, an amazing romance novel with very well-written non-binary representation.
