Sooo much better than the previous novel! I'm a little confused with the whole romance aspect to the story, since it's so all over the place, but that's fine because at least we get to see different sides to all the characters. Still haven't gotten much character development though from Gabriel, which is strange since I'm pretty sure he's supposed to be, like oh-so-important to Maddy, yet I don't even really know anything about his personality. Oh, and there's a distinct lack of any good female characters - the only ones in the story have been portrayed negatively. That's pretty disappointing and surprising, since the story has squeezed in so many male characters already in the first novel, then introduced more in this novel.
