Foe by Iain Reid
4.0

"Foe" is set in the near future, where Junior and Henrietta live a solitary life on their farm. One day, a stranger arrives and informs Junior that he has been selected to travel to outer space, but what's unusual is that Henrietta won't be left alone, as arrangements have already been made for her company. The novel explores domestic relationships, self-determination, and what it means to be human.

In my personal opinion, this book is a captivating, atmospheric, and a suspenseful read that held my attention until the very end. Although I did catch on to the ending early, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I think is my favorite by Iain Reed.
