The Fix Up by Kendall Ryan

Narrated by Ava Erickson and John Lane

Contemporary Romance Standalone
3.5 Stars

I listened to The Fix-Up by Kendall Ryan about 2-3 weeks ago and I am just catching up on reviews. I have plenty of notes, but still couldn’t remember what this book was about, I had to buy the book and skim it to refresh my memory, and I’ll be honest, I’m not sure I was 100% ‘there’ listening to it. Despite the amazing narration, I just never really got into this one. I’m not sure why, it has everything I usually love in a romance novel, PLUS a sexy Brit!
“Why, you ask? Because I'm Sterling F*cking Quinn, successful attorney, one of New York City's most sought-after bachelors, and in addition to a rather nice appendage, knickers melt when I open my mouth. I grew up in England, and my British accent is like lube. It makes girls wet instantly."

Sterling is set to inherit $50 million, but he needs to be married and in love in 6 months. If ever there was a person against marriage, it’s Sterling, the divorce attorney.
"She’s a true believer in happily-ever-afters, a slave to the idea of lasting love and forevers. I’m a jaded divorce attorney who can tell you every statistic on marriage and divorce over the past thirty years."

So they hire a PR person, Camryn, to find him a wife, hold speed dating events, etc.  and as much as she tries to be professional, her attraction for Sterling is growing. But she needs to find him an appropriate wife.
"... what if I continue working with her under the guise of finding a wife, but really, I'm wooing her."

She finds it harder and harder to resist him.

I feel like I’ve read this story already, multiple times. There just wasn’t anything that stood out as special or unique. I liked her, but despite his sexy accent, I never quite fell for him, he was too much of a dick at the beginning to make up for it.
"Quickies in the men's room of my office aren't going to work anymore. I need to start thinking like...a husband."

I am not going to do my typical likes and dislikes here because frankly, I don’t remember it enough to get that detailed.

The Narration:

The narration is what kept me reading! He had a sexy accent, and she was perfect.

The Down & Dirty:

The Fix-up by Kendall Ryan was a cute, light and fluffy book. Not too much substance or even excitement happened. I found myself a little bored and tuned out at times while listening, but overall it was an enjoyable, quick, angst-free steamy read. I think if you are a fan of Kendall Ryan’s Hitched Series you will appreciate this more because both characters were from that series.

Rating: 3.5 Stars, 4 Heat, 4 Narration
