His Name Is George Floyd: One Man's Life and the Struggle for Racial Justice by Robert Samuels, Toluse Olorunnipa
5.0
It was sad to read the book knowing its ending. (Twice actually: Floyd's death and the failure of the voting rights to pass.) Still, it was important to see his life as well as the horrifying 9 minutes of his death. For those familiar with the literature on systemic racism and prison abolition, the information will be familiar. The difference is seeing the cumulative effect on one person and his friends. To those unfamiliar with the literature, it could be an introduction.
