The Earl of London by Louise Bay

4.0

Is there anything better than a modern romance tale that is reminiscent of the quintessential romance novel, Pride & Prejudice? Louise Bay’s newest book, The Earl of London, is her gorgeous ode to every Mr. Darcy fan and is in my opinion a must read for all true romance fans.

The Earl of London is the story of Logan Steele and Darcy Westbury. Logan is a once and future Earl who has singlehandedly earned back his family’s fortune, estate, and place in the aristocracy through his own sheer will, after a betrayal by his father. Darcy is the epitome of the stiff upperlipped, English landed gentry, determined to maintain the way of life that both defines her and protects her from her own family troubles. Logan views Darcy as “…my most worthy opponent”. Darcy describes Logan as “take-me-now good looking”, but explains that “A man’s values were more important to me than a pretty face.”

The question then becomes, can two people with clear preconceptions of each other and their own roles in society break down those notions to find love? The answer to this question is a beautiful love story that should not be missed.
