The third book in the Blood and Ash series. I read this book until the halfway point, then proceeded to skim read the rest. I was incredibly bored by it, (the same feeling I got about the third book). I love the world-building aspects of fantasy novels, but here those details made the book feel incredibly bogged down. It was entirely too long, and repetitive. The ‘modern speak’ was always jarring to me but I could roll with it in the first two books because they were also highly engaging. I won’t be continuing the series.
