mschristy 's review for:
Absalom, Absalom!
by William Faulkner
I admit it freely...I did not, could not, finish this book. I think that while the idea is an interesting one with a lot of Faulkner's writing, the execution, though technically staggering, is simply torture to read. I'd picked up a collection of four novels of Faulkner's and this was the first one in the book...and I'd read "Sound and the Fury" in high school for a major thesis paper...but I just could not flog myself through this book.
Instead, I quit half-way through and read "The Unvanquished" and LOVED it. Entirely different writing style and a GREAT Southern Gothic story.
