The Inheritance Games
by Jennifer Lynn Barnes
Like Knives Out (the movie) but with teens! This book was full of puzzles and clues and a big old mystery to solve. Some bread crumbs were left for books to come.
A little too much teen-angsty romance drama and teenage cluelessness for me (why wouldn't you CHECK IN with your sister instead of spending all day and night with these suspicious rivals?), but that is to be expected in a YA novel. Nothing overly graphic or shocking. A bit too much glossing over certain characters in the periphery of the story, but I wonder if more will be revealed in future books in the series.
Overall an enjoyable romp.
