abhss 's review for:
The Red Queen
by Philippa Gregory
Overall, it was a good and interesting book. I learned a lot and the author’s approach was straightforward I think. Still, I wanted a bit more. Of course the politicking was focused on Magaret’s, The Red Queen. It doesn’t help that I didn’t like Margaret as a character. I mean it’s part of her portrait, she was meant to not be likeable. But I still wanted more of what we see in the last few pages. The ending was good but rushed.
Also, justice for Henry Stafford, the most under appreciated character: “But I have seen battles and I know what they cost, and right now, I see it as my duty to keep these lands and our people in safety and peace while other men scramble for their own ambition, and tear this country apart.”
