I'd have loved to give this book another star. When it hits the notes of mysterious southern ghost tale it's great, and the main characters conflicting emotions and angs about her relationships and bisexuality is very good.
But that same angst is applied to "engaging with the main plot", it doesn't feel as fresh. She constantly gets talked out of continuing with the plot of the book, but I never feel the reasons were good enough, and whilst being bad at communicating was good for the teen drama scenes, it just makea other scenes frustrating. It's good, but the frustrations were too many
