This series is a spin off of another JLA series. I did not read The Dark Elements series before beginning this one. It would probably be better to read that one first, as there are characters from that book here, but it did not take away my enjoyment.

The book is set primarily in modern day D.C. There are angels and demons working to maintain the balance between good and evil. Although, something is coming, and everyone is worried. There are also Wardens, think gargoyle shifters, who hunt demons in order to protect unsuspecting humans from being hurt or killed. It’s a fun spin on a classic angels/demons world.

I loved our two main characters. Trinity was immature at times, but overall she was tough and independent and loyal to her clan. Zayne is amazing. He was featured heavily in The Dark Elements series, and this series was his time to shine and get his happy ending. I really loved getting to know him and seeing his growth.

Some aspects were a bit predictable, but I really enjoyed everything! There are a ton of Supernatural references, which is fine, but should be noted!
