Too Hot To Handle!

Firefighters get a lot of flack from male and female admirers alike so I was surprised to see Damon Suede recognize this as sometimes being problematic for the guys. I love guys who aren't 100% comfortable with their own desirability even if they do know they've got plenty to admire. Griff was too sweet for words with his pale skin prone to blushing and his size making him feel as if he were a bull in a china shop all the time; Dante was the perfect peacock of a guy who constantly preened for attention in an attempt to keep anyone from getting too close.

Anyone except Griffin Muir who was family, right?

I love that they had this amazing bond as friends, as brothers-in-arms at the firehouse, and as men who'd been through too much together. I could believe Griff would go in for the Hothead-Dot-Com job with Dante to help him save his house since what wouldn't he do for this man who was so much to him? He'd die for him, but he wouldn't spend a few minutes uncomfortable in front of a camera? That wouldn't have made any more sense than him agreeing to it without having any more-than-friendly inclinations toward his best friend.

Falling in love comes with fear attached. No one walks into real love without knowing this person can break them in a way they never want to be broken if they don't return that love.

I was so glad to see Dante and Griff finding a way to love one another without breaking each other. They got the best happy-ever-after they could considering their circumstances. I have a lot of hope for their future; I was really glad the hardships closeted Tommy underwent since his struggles only made what Griff and Dante had together that much more precious. I really look forward to seeing Tommy's story when it gets here.

In the meantime, I couldn't recommend Hot Head higher if I tried. It's a blazing inferno of a read with the perfect blend of insecurities to make friends-to-lovers convincing.
