Outside Looking In by T.C. Boyle

2.0

I read this for a book club, and I don't know if I'd have finished it if it wasn't for that. I didn't completely hate it, it just... didn't do much for me, so two stars for now. To be honest I thought the prelude was more interesting than the rest of the book, and I kept wondering why the normal dose was 250 mg after all.

I suppose it can serve as an introduction to how someone might end up in this inner circle and what keeps them trapped there. However, I don't feel emotionally connected to any of the characters except perhaps Corey and he gets very little screen time.

It will be interesting to see what the book club discussion reveals.

In summary:
SpoilerA long series of acid trips and very little actual momentum. They're all just floating in their inner minds expanding their perceptions.
