The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
4.0

It's Sherlock Holmes, so you know you're in for a good mystery. For some reason, this didn't "grab" me as much as some of the other books I've been reading lately. I think part of the problem was that I was trying to read it in tandem with my 6th graders, so I kept getting interrupted by behavior issues and questions. Needless to say, this didn't help with my being able to follow all the intricacies of the plot very well. Still, there were some really nice bits: the description of the hound, all the the fun little bits of deception, the backstories of the characters. Klinger's annotations are interesting, and give nice background to the story, while simultaneously pointing out some of the inconsistencies of the text and how others have sought to rectify the "mistakes" made by the author.
