Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

4.0

I first came across Little women from a chapter in my sixth standard textbook. It was the one where Jo and Amy have differences. I could relate to Jo's anger so much at that time that I felt like Amy should never have been forgiven for what she did. The movie did nothing to change my perspective. But now that I have read, felt and gone through the pilgrim's burdens, I found the moment when Jo was repenting so heart wrenching that it feels like I learned a lesson from Marmee too.
This book is not picturesque. It is perfect in no means to me. I feel very strongly that a lot of it would have been trimmed and made sensational like the stories that Jo wrote for the Volcano newspaper, if it would have been subjected to editors my age. It is real and makes you feel things as well as learn from them. As I finish this book today my heart feels full. I know that I can come back to the Little Women anytime I want and enjoy their unique voyages from different views. This book is a classic read for sure. Spend your time with it and don't rush through.
