i have never struggled in reading a comic book more than i have with this one. the only reason i’ve even deigned to finish it is because my coworker has practically pointed a gun to my head to read so that he’ll have someone to talk to about it. i’ve read edgy as someone who reads a lot of dark fantasy novels, but i will never forgive alan moore or any of his whimsies. although, i have to say that rorschach is exactly who edgelord batman fans envision batman to be, who has batman as his true identity and “bruce wayne” as a mask. i’m going to need those fans to find rorschach and project into him instead, but i also do fear that those same people will be even more volatile than they already are.
