Interesting statements on the fall of empire and the idea of overarching historical trends. However, as with most other foundation stories from Asimov I personally found the characters flat and forgettable. This book felt like it was trying to be a bit more character driven than some of the other Foundation novels I had read and I honestly was not interested in those moments. That said, if you like history and philosophy, this book as well as Foundation and Empire are worth a read for the overarching societal ideas that they put forward and play with throughout.
