Wicked Saints by Emily A. Duncan

4.0

I am surprised that I enjoyed this book a lot.

The beginning of the book was a little hard to follow what was going on, I think it deserves a second read so I can completely wrap my head around it. I felt that the first half was very jumpy, that I lost track of where people were standing or doing for example.

This did lessen as I got further in the book, but I did at times lose what and where characters were.

The romance is a little forced and very quick when it was introduced. I thought it wasn't deserved or it came out of no way. But I later gave in and enjoyed the romance that I found myself wanting more. (I hope the next book as more)

I enjoyed the magic system a lot, I loved the ideas of Gods; it was does done well in my opinion. I loved the blood magic. Though I am a little confused about Serefin's magic, I think we will learn more in the second book (we will most likely learn with him)

I enjoyed the reference to Shadow and Bone that Duncan had thrown in. I thank her for the little easter eggs, I just find them fun to catch.

Overall, an enjoyable book with a lot of dark blood magic thrown in it.
