Mostly just boring, really. Also, noticed the subtle sexism. Not just in the characters, but it's quite obvious the author also feels that way.

He kept describing them to be laughing. At nothing funny. There wasn't anything for me to laugh about, and therefor the emotions of the characters almost never matched mine. Don't think that's the intention.

He's trying so hard to make this mean something. It was just another example of generational trauma. Not that well done either.

 
Also, if your brother killed an innocent person, just because your brother is transphobic, you should react more horrified. Plus, you want to start contacting him? Why? He's awful. We don't forgive people like that. We shun people like that. What the hell?
 

Boy am I glad I bought it second hand and didn't give the author my money.
