One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez

5.0

extremely difficult to read - unless you take notes along the way, you can and will forget half of the characters names as you read - but one of the most incredibly unique pieces of writing i have ever come across. the blend of magical realism with political turmoil and generational trauma is breathtaking, and the overall concept is fascinating.

as such, despite difficulty in following along at some points, one of the best books i’ve ever read, and one i will probably read again in the not too distant future.
