The Family Game by Catherine Steadman

3.0

Honestly, this one was pretty disappointing for me, which was a bummer since it seemed really promising. It's a slow burn, which is fine if it leads somewhere, but I guess I was expecting more twists and turns? More secrets? I had a hard time connecting with the villain in terms of finding them truly threatening... there just wasn't quite enough angst or build-up. Still, I did enjoy parts of it and found a couple scenes near the end more heart-pounding than the rest. It had a great premise, but I wish there had been more depth overall.
