Oh, this was so much fun and I'm so glad I finally got around to starting this series!
Washington Poe is the grumpy detective who, at his core, has a very strong sense of justice. And Tilly Bradshaw is the socially awkward genius who works in IT. Along with their boss, Stephanie Flynn and other co-workers, they have to figure out who's been torching people in the stone circles of mountainous Cumbria and why one of the victims had Poe's name carved into his body.
The characters were memorable and had great interactions – some of the moments between Poe and Tilly had me laughing out loud or giggling. The plot was well-paced, engaging, and all the necessary details were there so the reader could make educated guesses at the solution as well. I did manage to guess the solution at some point, after which I started to looking for further clues to confirm my suspicions. And that was a lot of fun as well!
It was just overall such a well-crafted thriller and I'm excited to continue the series.
