Westwind: The classic lost thriller
by Ian Rankin
This thriller is one of Rankin’s first books, in a new edition. It’s from back when he was trying to find his style. The characters were not as fleshed out as in his more recent books, but the author manages to keep the reader hooked. It was amusing to see what was considered sophisticated technology back in the late 80’s, such as central locking in cars, intelligence satellites, car phones and faxes. It was not a memorable read, but it was entertaining enough.
