It's not entirely true to say I read this book. I read very few chapters of part 1 and most of part 2 (skimming just a little). I would say I half read it and with my mom reading it aloud and filling me in on most of part 1.
That being said, part one was awful. Absolutely terrible. Like so god awful if I were the one reading I would have DNF'd the book.
I read book reviews saying it got better after part 2 and I can see why. That's when the book finally gets interesting. Which is a shame because it's already halfway into the book at that point. Everyone who rated this book highly has never read a genuinely good thriller and it shows. Good God does it show. Don't waste your time. If it were a movie I'd say sure, but to spend multiple hours on this book that you will never get back is a disservice to yourself.
