What a ride. From about 60% to the end I just had to know how it ended! This is mostly “scaredy cat approved” there are some rough scenes (the “chitlin” anecdote is gonna take awhile to leave me 😖). My heart broke for this family over and over again.. I love how complex Cosby makes his main characters. How Roman developed is not what I expected. My heart SWELLED when Ike popped up (I also wondered if the “Ronnie” that was brought up earlier in the book was from Blacktop but I couldn’t remember his last name in that book). I don’t typically go for gritty without romance but I just love Cosby’s work and it’s always worth it!!
