Atheists Who Kneel and Pray by Tarryn Fisher
5.0
[a: Tarryn Fisher|5410816|Tarryn Fisher|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1336086252p2/5410816.jpg] has a dark, twisty soul that loves to play with your heart and mess with your mind.
What do you do when that dark, twisty soul decides to write a love story?
You read it.
I have not felt this emotional angst from her since Olivia and Caleb. (For realsies though, I learned that I love to be emotionally tortured from reading [b: The Opportunist|13312527|The Opportunist (Love Me with Lies, #1)|Tarryn Fisher|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1374526831s/13312527.jpg|18518411]. It was the first book I ever finished and threw across the room in frustration. I like to think I've matured since then...)
Olivia and Caleb, meet Yara and David.
This book works because of Yara. She's so flawed and beautifully human that you can't help but root for her. There were times I loved her, I wanted to cry with her/for her, and also times I wanted to throttle her.
David was a constant. Her constant.
After all, he knows her best.
Come back to me. Come back. Come.
One thing I admire about Tarryn Fisher is her ability to write original stories. I sometimes find myself having a tough time pegging her books into a specific genre.
Basically, she's a fucking unicorn.
