Witch Hat Atelier, Volume 6
by Kamome Shirahama
We pick-up with our group of hooligans heading to Wizard City after book 5's mild cliffhanger. This volume is more of a set-up volume (make sense as we just got A Lot of action) but the sneaky puzzle seeds are scattering everywhere even as we finally see the Main Hall of witches & meet some of the power players there. I love the unfolding world Shirahama's built, it feel so lived in & warm while still carrying the mystery (I mean, I know that's what most books do, but lots of them don't pull it off at all. You spend the first 3rd of a book getting to know the world with the barest crumbs of plot & then BAM, plot city in our now built & unchanging world). What I'm saying is that Witch Hat Atelier is an amazing fantasy series & you should be reading it right now!
