Whenever Maeve Hartley and Asher Callahan get married on a whim while in Las Vegas, they think it will end in a quick annulment and a fun story. When they realize they are going to have to stay married longer than expected, feelings start to come into play. Can they figure things out without ruining their friendship?
Y’all - this book is excellent. It’s my first book by Lauren Blakely and, no, it won’t be my last. Blakely’s writing is smart, fresh, and fun. First, the characters are strong and well written. They are interesting and multi-dimensional with interests and full lives. The side characters are fun and engaging as well. The work building is on point. The plot is well thought out. The banter between Maeve and Asher is entertaining, and their spice is next level. I love that Blakely always keeps their friendship in view because it’s the basis of their whole relationship. If I have any complaint, it would be that the ending felt a little rushed, but that’s a minor quibble. Overall, this book is a five star beauty!
I highly recommend The Proposal Play. Read it and let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss.
