Trigger warnings: mentions of death, sexual harassment, lying, trauma, disease, violence

This was so cute! I, like many other romance readers, am a fan of hockey romances, but I haven't really been interested in any of the current popular ones. So I was really excited to see that hockey plays a big part in the plot of this book. It was so great to be back in that particular atmosphere that you can only get with hockey players falling in love haha. There's not as much of the siblings in the first book as I hoped, so I was nervous about continuing the series and not enjoying the new characters as much. I should not have been worried at all because I loved Ren and Frankie! Grumpy/sunshine is a great trope and I feel like it's even better when the heroine is grumpy because it's less common. Frankie was a freaking hoot. She was so funny yet such a tortoise, rough around the edges and sweet on the inside. I loved how strong and resilient she was while still understandably being nervous to be vulnerable. Ren is such a sweetheart. I love how kind, considerate and open he is. They were such a contrast to each other but I loved how they communicated and worked together. Definitely enjoyed it as much as the first book!
