Twisted Games

"You are the princess. You do not cower in front of anyone."
Thank god that's over. What a waste of time. I expected a fun, light read that I would race through in no time and got the most boring, lacklustre pile of words of a book that I could've imagined. God. How was it possible to make a book like this that boring?
While this book is marketed as a slowburn (even though it isn't, really) the near-constant time skips mean we don't actually get to see the main couple, Bridget and Rhys, 'fall in love' at all. Lol. What's the point of a slowburn then? Also, I don't believe they actually were 'in love' at all. Pure lust.
These characters are so boring, too. The only one who was even half interesting was Andreas which is why it's so funny to me that he's one of the main villains. At least he brought something to the table. Rhys is one of the dullest male romantic interests I've ever read about - his two character traits are being brooding and overprotective. Bridget was fine but also very, very boring. This whole thing was just boring.
So, final thoughts: this book is about 200 pages too long and so very boring I had to struggle to finish it after hitting the midway point. It's basically about two dull stock characters and their forbidden lust for each other. Everything that happens is implausible - which I could excuse if it was at least interesting. But it isn't. None of this is interesting. Can't believe this is what Booktok hyped up so much. My god. What a waste of time.
