Capturing the Devil, the final installment in the Stalking Jack the Ripper series, accomplished everything I needed it to and more. The mystery did take a bit of a backseat to the romance at the beginning of this book, but I didn't mind, especially considering how fast things got back on track.

While the mystery was, again, impeccable, what really made this book for me was the family that Audrey Rose and Thomas put together. Found Family is one of my favorite book tropes, especially when it includes actual family members who fit into the group seamlessly (Uncle, Grandmama, Daciana).

As I mentioned earlier, the romance definitely stepped up a few notches here, but in the best way. I love how Audrey Rose and Thomas are a team no matter what gets thrown at them in every area of their lives.

I'm going to wrap it up here before I start spewing spoilers. I'm not usually a mystery/historical fiction reader, but these books hooked me from page one.  If you haven't read the Stalking Jack the Ripper series, do yourself a favor and do it.

Happy Reading!
