Thank you to this book for getting me out of my month-long reading slump!
Where to start? Firstly, I couldn’t put this down once I picked it up, the writing is so deeply atmospheric that it becomes immersive and allowed the author to hide details in plain sight. Secondly, I gobbled up the authors note and knowing that she based the house in this off somewhere she lived in real life makes perfect sense for why this whole story felt hauntingly real. What an allegory for girlhood & the female experience that can often times feel so urgent, overwhelming, and obsessive.
Idk this was just so frickin good, I’m obsessed
