There is absolutely no way I wouldn't end up falling madly in love with this book. Time travel, a wonderfully written heroine, mouth-watering food, adorable side characters. And yes, sweet, funny, hot-as-hell scots.
Meggie's journey is amazing! I love how she faced the new life in front of her, adapting her modern skills to find a place in seventeen century Scotland. There are so many great things about this book; the landscapes, the action, the playful banter between the MacKinnons and Meggie. But my favorite is how she traverses everyday life. How the simplest things are so perfect and satisfactorily described.
And the cooking!
They say the fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach, and this is a thousand times proven in the MacKinnon household. Malcolm is the ultimate proof! Yes, Colin is wonderful, but I can't wait to read about his big brother in the next book.
Jillian Bondarchuk has won a forever fan in me!
