This book started out great. I thought in the first humdred pages this was gonna be a 5+ star book, but sadly in the end it wasn't. It was still great but there were some problems.
The first hundred pages were so fast-paced, I loved it. I loooved Kale and his loyalty. He was sweet and memorable. Deznee was also a great protagonist! I love a girl with some guts. No girl that cries when a nail breaks, it was refreshing! The characters were great.
The plot however got kinda boring at some point. And kind of confusing too. It is a lot of people double crossing each other or pretending to double cross others. And the fighting scene at the end lasted so long I just skipped parts.
So yeah, in the end it was not as great of a book as I thought but I still enjoyed this book a whole lot! I will definitely read the rest of the books in this series. I think they have great potential (and I need me some more Kale!!).
**Edit: 27 oktober.. I tried reading a new book today.. Nope! I couldn't do it. I was still thinking about this one and no other book could peak my interest. I have a bad book hangover, so I decided to raise this book from 4 to 5 stars! (Although I wish Goodreads could do the half stars thing, then I'd give it 4.5 stars.)**
