Ok, I know, I know, this book is a *classic* in the YA fictional world, but I honestly, just didn't love it that much. I read some of Cassandra Clare's more recent books before starting on this one (the Infernal Devices) and I can tell that her writing drastically improved from one book to the next, and while already knowing about the shadow hunter world did make this book easier to understand, I think it also took away some of the intrigue and suspense surrounding the story. Overall, I think it's a relatively interesting story, but I just didn't enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the Clockwork series.
