I loved it but this book needs a trigger warning!!!! Sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence, and incest!
I took off half a star because of this because I was pretty shocked when in the first 50 pages it was talking about abuse in that way! I do think the author handled the subjects pretty well, however it was very shocking and a little triggering in some parts!
I thought this was an absolutely wonderful story about the way women can start over and how they can make a life for themselves even after going through horrific events! It was so moving and genuinely heartwarming to read about the resilience of women!
Though this is a fantasy, I loved the way a lot of the book was very rooted in reality. It covered topics and events that sadly too many women had to experience and I absolutely loved reading how these women overcame it. Altha's story was less about redemption than and more about getting revenge for her friend. But I loved the way that she was able to guide the two other women centuries after her death. I loved how connected they all were, overall it was a really good book! Just a little heavy at times.
