I'm having a little hard time rating this book because on the one hand I hated or at least disliked all of the characters and I really felt dissatisfied by the ending. On the other hand the narrative was compelling enough for me to want to keep reading to find out what was going on.
But the positives just aren't enough for me to rate it higher, though they do keep it from being a 1 star (which it came close). There's more profanity and sexy times than I personally care for and toward the end I felt like she crossed a line that just pushed me over the edge. The deaths of Jeremy the cat and Perry were particularly unnecessary and felt exploitative rather than vital to the plot. Both of them just really turned me off and made it difficult for me to even finish the book.
The ending in particular just left me feeling completely dissatisfied. The abrupt time jump left things hanging and there's just no real resolution.
Overall, not something I would recommend.
