4.5/5!

This book completely changed my perspective of Liz not just because she’s gone through what no child should ever have to but because this book perfectly captures how what’s happening to and around her really effects the way she behaves.
As an OG indie published Boys of Tommen reader I have never Hughie or Liz’s number one fan but I gotta say I’m a changed woman, I loved reading the slow and gradual relationship development between Hugh and Liz and I did sob for at least half of this book.

The criticism on them not communicating or acting like children while yes I do agree with it, there’s also the point of people aren’t going to read 4-5 year olds talk about who they played with for 30% of the book.

Was the book triggering? Yes but as a girly who has struggled with mental health I didn’t find it as horrifyingly triggering as people were making out to be but that just personal opinion. Do i think Chloe Walsh could have stated how potentially trigger and what the triggers could be in more detail? Yeah, she could have been more transparent while still not giving away too much about the book. I don’t love Walsh as person and I definitely don’t stand by her actions, I read the book for what it was and separated the work for the author.
