The Sky Blues by Robbie Couch

3.0

As much as I liked characters and story, there is just not enough depth to it for me to give it a higher rating. This is an enjoyable read, but nothing more. The main antagonist of the story, the main homophobe doesn’t have even a single conversation with our protagonist.
In the ending chapters Cliff through Dan (i think?) says to Sky he wants to apologise and talk. I was exited for that scene, where we finally get a full view, get an understanding of reasons behind his actions. But we never do. Its a great shame, and probably the biggest flaw of this book.
Overall though, a pretty hopeful and enjoyable story. Just don’t expect a masterpiece.
