The Teacher is a book that I was very excited to read as I have heard so many great things about Freida McFadden being the queen of plot twists, which I live for! With that being said, the twists were good, and they were somewhat shocking, but they weren't knock-me-off-my-chair shocking, which is what I'm looking for. I want a twist that will leave me thinking about it for days. This book didn't quite do that for me, along with the fact that it was quite some time before anything notable happened at all. I also found a few plot holes and inconsistencies, along with a few things that didn't make complete sense. These were pretty minor though, and I can look past them to the bigger picture, which is that, overall, this book is a page-turner that I wanted to constantly have my eyes on because I NEEDED to figure it out. I think my slight disappointment in the lack of a big shock factor was more from me setting my expectations to an unreasonably high level based on things I have heard. I still very much enjoyed this book and will buy more Frieda McFadden novels very soon because I'm excited to see what other twisty stories she has to tell. Who knows, maybe the next one will knock me out of my chair with its twists!
