An affluent family goes on holiday for the Summer where things take a dark turn. For 20 years, no one has spoken of the incident but when a new TV series makes its debut and showcases the events of that long tragic night, the family is forced to relive those moments. Everyone has their own version of what happened but which is the truth? The family must make tough decisions as they rehash the events of that long ago Summer.

This was an atmospheric, well-written, dark thriller with a decently quick pace and great twists. I wasnโt sure what to expect but I ate this one up! I found the dual timeline layout to work really well for this story and it added to the foreboding nature of the writing. The Treehouse left me wondering how well we really know our families and showcases that connection by blood can cloud our judgment as we seek the approval and love of those physically closest to us. I found myself cringing and flying through the pages in equal measure. Most thrillers donโt have this level of darkness to them, at least that I read. This was a refreshing change. I definitely want to see more from this author after reading this.
