I think this was a good start to a new series. It’s a little slow but it sets a good foundation for the world building and. I like Sentra for the most part. She’s tough and stubborn. Her dad is a piece of work for sure. Adrian is sweet but seems to have a bit of a hero’s complex when it comes to Emyra. Graylen is a typical brooding bodyguard. I love that we get the fake engagement trope in here as well. 
As I said before, it is a little slower than I was expecting. However it gave us good info throughout, and that ending definitely made up for it in the end and I will be immediately jumping into book 2!
