The Mysterious Affair at Styles
by Agatha Christie
Classic Christie and our first introduction to the famous Hercule! You can tell she was feeling / fleshing out his character and mannerisms in this book, but that doesn’t take away from how much fun it is to read a Poirot story!
There are one or two jarring comments of racism in the book, even if those things might have been ‘common place’ in the 1920’s when this book was written, they still make you feel sick to read them.
