Stupid Cupid by Maeve Black

4.0

This was such a good read, especially if you wanted something a bit shorter. A couple of things that threw me off was the fact that the font would change sizes randomly but it didn’t affect the story.
With Valentine, I wanted to strangle him but after reading further I understood why he was being the way he was. I just felt so bad for Pyro because he was a punching bag. But it all came together in the end even though I wished moments of love weren’t so heavily laced with lust. You know since they’re falling in love. But I did like the characters and the world-building. Maeve Black is very creative in that area.
Oh, and a warning (or a luring), this book is SPICY. Like they’re in a sex club in the middle of chapter two. I especially loved how their sex scenes were done properly with safe words and rules in place (even though Valentine kept breaking them)
As for the author, I feel as though Maeve has a lot of potential just a bit green. I can’t wait to follow her journey as an author and see how her stories develop and grow stronger.
